Rebecca Davies BVetMed CertAVP(EP) MRCVS
Rebecca graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2016, having always dreamed of working with horses. Her passion for equine veterinary medicine began at a young age, and a work experience placement at a veterinary practice when she was 16 confirmed that this was the career for her.
After graduating, Rebecca spent 18 months working in mixed practice in Cumbria before moving south to complete an equine internship. She then stayed on as an ambulatory vet for a further two and a half years before relocating to Edinburgh in 2021, where she spent four and a half years in ambulatory equine practice. During this time, she completed her Certificate in Equine Practice in 2025. Rebecca joined Oakhill Equine Vets following a move to the area to be closer to her partner’s family.
Rebecca enjoys the variety of ambulatory equine practice, where no two days are the same. She particularly enjoys getting to know clients and their horses and building lasting relationships. She takes a collaborative approach to patient care, working closely with owners to develop treatment plans that suit both their horse’s needs and their individual circumstances.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys baking, cycling and walking. She shares her home with Bobby, a 14-year-old Pomeranian cross Chihuahua who was adopted from a rescue centre when he was five, and Olive, a nine-year-old black-and-white domestic shorthair cat.
Rebecca has also discovered that treating wildlife can have its hazards! While once treating a seagull for a broken wing, she was bitten by her patient – an experience that certainly made for an unusual day at work.
