Molly Cahoon BVM BVS MRCVS
Molly graduated from the University of Nottingham in December 2024, as part of the university’s first April-intake cohort. She was drawn to Nottingham’s practical approach to teaching, which included hands-on experience from the very beginning of her studies. After graduating, Molly spent a year working in ambulatory equine practice in Cheshire before joining Oakhill Equine Vets in January 2026.
Molly particularly enjoys the variety of first-opinion equine work, from dentistry and medical cases to emergencies and the occasional lameness investigation. She loves working through the different pieces of each puzzle to reach a diagnosis and believes that the best outcomes come from finding the right treatment plan for each individual horse and owner, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Outside of work, Molly enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking and camping, as well as playing football. During her time as a veterinary student, she also developed an interest in wildlife medicine, which took her to Peru, where she helped care for woolly monkeys, a jaguarundi, a three-toed sloth and a Peruvian screech owl chick. She also took part in a community outreach programme providing essential veterinary care to dogs, including vaccinations, worming and wound treatment, an experience she found particularly rewarding.
