Matilda graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2024 and joined Oakhill Equine Vets as a new graduate. Having grown up around horses, she was fascinated by the work of equine vets from an early age. After sneaking out with a family friend who was an equine vet and spending a memorable day working in the pouring rain, she knew she had found her calling!

Matilda was drawn to Oakhill by its excellent reputation and the opportunity to develop her skills as part of a supportive team. She enjoys all aspects of ambulatory equine practice, with particular interests in medicine and emergency work. One of the most rewarding parts of her job is seeing horses recover and return to enjoying life out and about.

Outside of work, Matilda enjoys hiking, horse riding and heading to the pub for a pub quiz. She is also a big musical theatre fan! She shares her life with Crunchie, her working Cocker Spaniel, who keeps her busy when she’s not out caring for horses.
