Are you a recent vet graduate? We are looking for an enthusiastic person to take on our 12-month clinic internship position. The ideal candidate will be interested in equine orthopaedics and surgery and will be keen to learn in a supportive environment.

Our well-established internship has seen many newly qualified veterinary surgeons successfully transition into veterinary life, with the guidance of our experienced team of equine vets, including two ECVS diploma-holding surgeons. Our specialists will provide a training programme designed for those individuals wishing to pursue a career in advanced lameness diagnosis and/or equine surgery.

The successful candidate will work predominantly within our busy equine clinic, performing imaging, providing in-patient care and surgical assistance. The position will be fully supported with one-to-one mentoring through the RCVS graduate development programme (GDP), with which we have a proven track record.

An excellent package is on offer, with RCVS and VDS fees paid, appropriate CPD budget and holiday allowance in line with our other veterinary surgeons.

We have lovely clients and see a diverse mix of patients from competition horses to family ponies, so there’s plenty of opportunity to gain experience. Plus, the equine division has the support and camaraderie of being part of a large, independent practice with small animal and farm divisions.

As part of a 15-vet equine division you will always have people available to offer guidance and support. There are many opportunities to participate in our monthly health and wellbeing sessions and we encourage the team to participate in social events together.

For a confidential, informal discussion please call Rosie Owen (Equine Director) on 07714 754116, or alternatively send your CV to rosie.owen@oakhill-vets.com
