Tom Morgan’s Bio
Hi, I am Tom and am one of the small animal vets mainly based at the Kirkham branch. I graduated from University of Liverpool veterinary school in 2016.
I am originally from the Somerset but I have lived in Lancashire for the past 4 years with my partner Jill and my young son Charles. I have many interests with the main ones being cars, Formula 1, cricket, real ale, wine and making curries. Before working at Oakhill I have worked for two busy veterinary hospitals.
Favourite parts of the job?
There are many aspects of the job I enjoy, from meeting clients to the challenge of treating their pets. Veterinary comes with great variety with no day being the same. My greatest interest however is in surgery (both soft tissue and orthopaedics) of which I am currently working towards becoming an advanced veterinary practitioner in.
What made you want to work for Oakhill?
Oakhill appealed to me as it is an independent practice owned and run by some of the vets who work here. This for me is important as it provides a more welcoming environment for clients and their pets and quite often I will see the same animals allowing case continuity.
The recent rise in corporate run practices, in my opinion, has removed the familiarity and has become rather faceless which is a shame.
Do you have pets of your own?
I have two dogs: Perry, a Chihuahua cross Jack Russel Terrier, and Parker a Parsons Jack Russel Terrier. Both are very energetic and keep me very busy!
