I’m Paige, one of the RVN’s here at Oakhill. I love animals and have always wanted a career where they could be part of my everyday life.
What made you want to be a Veterinary Nurse?
I’ve always had an interest in the animal world, finding myself engrossed in David Attenborough day after day and not to mention the obsession I had with Wild at Heart! I suppose you could say that it has always been the job of my dreams.
What made you want to work at Oakhill?
I first came to Oakhill as a new graduate and as you can imagine this is a daunting time for anyone. I quickly gained my confidence with the help of such a supportive and friendly team. In addition to this, Oakhill provides crucial veterinary care to a wide range of beautiful animals which quickly helped improve my skill s and knowledge.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to be an RVN?
I suppose my advice would be that if you are wanting to be a veterinary nurse, go and follow your dreams, as although it can be challenging at times, it is worth every second when you see that tail wagging through your consult door.
What do you like most about working with animals
One of many reasons why I love working with animals is that all important daily snuggle.
Do you have any pets of your own?
I have two cats of my own called Arnie & Arlo and a bunny called Bella, all of which were strays that I rescued from my training practice. My family has always had horses and I cannot forget my nephew Milo, a French bulldog.
If you could be any animal for a day, what would it be and why?
If I could be any animal in the world, I would be a Jaguar, such majestic creatures!
