The Nurses

The nursing team is crucial to the success of the practice. The nurses work mainly at the practice, but often assist the vets out on calls.

Nurse at Oakhill - Kirkham & Oakhill - Goosnargh

Jules joined the team at Oakhill, Goosnargh in 2008 as the head small animal nurse. Jules qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1996 and became a registerd VN in 2008. She has a keen interest in critical care and anaesthesia, and currently runs nursing clinics for puppies and kittens, geriatrics, weight-loss, behaviour and general advice.

In her spare time Jules likes to walk and sail in the Lake District.

Nurse at Oakhill - Kirkham & Abbey - Conway Drive

Nicola is the head nurse at the Conway Drive Branch and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Veterinary Nursing from Myerscough College and is a qualified Hills Nutritional Advisor. Nicola has two hand reared cats called ‘Sox’ and ‘Hugo’. She enjoys horse riding in her spare time and has an ex-racehorse.

Nurse at Abbey - Watling Street Road

Angela has been a member of the practice since 2005. She attended Myerscough College on day release and qualified as a registered Veterinary Nurse in September 2007. She is currently head nurse at the Watling St Road branch. Angela enjoys horse riding in her spare time and competes at dressage with her warm blood ‘Jo’. She also has a Labrador cross called Beanie.

Nurse at Abbey - Conway Drive

Kate qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in Jan 09. She has a black and white cat called ‘Jess’, who was acquired after being brought into the surgery as a stray following a road traffic accident. He had numerous injuries on arrival, and after nursing him back to health, Kate took him home.

Nurse at Abbey - Conway Drive and Oakhill - Goosnargh

Karen has worked at Conway Drive since 2004 and has been working towards her veterinary nursing exams, which she passed in May 2012.

She owns 3 Staffordshire Bull Terriers; ‘Poppy, Parker and Oz’, one of which was adopted through work, as well as 2 Horsfield Tortoises called Bert and Ernie.

In her free time she enjoys horse riding and owns with her sister a Thoroughbred ex-racehorse called ‘Steal’.

Chloe joined the practice in 2003 after spending 8 years working as a veterinary nurse in a practice in East Lancashire. Chloe is an experienced showjumper and dressage rider, and competes in many regional events.
