Bryn - The Border Collie
‘Bryn' is a lovely five month old male Border collie dog. He is an extremely friendly, nice tempered dog and loves children. He was brought in by his owners to see the vet at one of our Abbey branches because he was acting out of character.
He had become lethargic, miserable and had been vomiting for the past 24 hours. ‘Bryn's' owners mentioned that he eats children's socks on a regular basis!
On clinical examination, Bryn was very miserable for an active young puppy and the veterinary surgeon was suspicious that she could feel a foreign body when palpating his tummy.
He was admitted immediately and placed on intravenous fluid therapy. He was operated on later that day and we removed a blue children's sock that had become lodged in his intestines. He made a fantastic recovery and is now back to his normal hyperactive self.
‘Bryn's' family now keep all socks out of his reach!!!!
