At Oakhill we are very proud of our team of veterinary surgeons. One of the most important things that we like to offer our clients is consistency. The members of the vet team rarely changes and this allows us to get to know you and your animals, allowing us to provide the best possible service to you as an individual.

David Catlow

David Catlow

Partner 

David joined the practice immediately after qualifying from Liverpool University in 1987. For many years David has been a keen member of the British Veterinary Association which is the national representative body for the veterinary profession. In 2006 David became president of the British Veterinary Association and works tirelessly to promote and represent the profession.

Judith Lee

Judith Lee

Partner 

Judith joined the practice in 1993 after qualifying from Glasgow University. She often has to use her veterinary skills at home on the family beef and sheep unit located in the picturesque Trough of Bowland.

Judith has a keen interest in small animal medicine and surgery, farm animal practice and equine medicine.

Peter Acton

Peter Acton

Partner 

Peter qualified from Liverpool University and joined the practice in 1990. He has a special interest in equine lameness and orthopaedic surgery. He has hunted with the Vale of Lune Harriers and competed at Wembley at the Horse of the Year Show. He now spends more time playing squash, rugby and wake boarding on the River Wyre.

Tracey Taylor

After graduating from Liverpool University, Tracey worked in mixed practice before she returned to Liverpool University Large Animal Hospital and completed an internship. Tracey joined the team at Oakhill in 2007 and now actively runs our farm animal sector.

Geoff Baines

Geoff Baines

Geoff qualified from Liverpool University in 1979 and started his veterinary career in a mixed animal practice in Barnsley. He couldn’t stay away from Lancashire for long and joined Barry in Preston in 1980. He is a keen fisherman and also enjoys a round of golf.

Michael Murphy

Michael Murphy

Michael joined the practice and our experienced farm team in June 2010, after working for four years in North Yorkshire and a year in New Zealand.

Michael enjoys sport especially rugby splitting his time between supporting Munster and Ireland. He also enjoys walking and hiking so is looking forward to exploring the local scenery and the Lake District.

Andrew Moore

Andrew Moore

Andrew joined our team in January 2012 and is currently working between our Oakhill, Goosnargh, Oakhill Kirkham and Abbey Watling Street Road Surgeries.

He grew up in Lytham St Annes and after a number of years of living away; he is now looking forward to being back in Lancashire!

Andrew graduated from Edinburgh University in 2006. Since then he has been working in a large mixed animal practice (with hospital status) in Wales where he has gained experience in a wide range of medical and surgical small animal procedures and farm veterinary work. He was also heavily involved in developing the exotic animal side of the practice.

In his spare time, Andrew likes to listen to music, play sport and explore the local countryside. Last year he even completed the three peaks challenge.

Sam Baker

Sam Baker

Sam is the newest member of our veterinary team having joined us in August 2011 after graduating from Liverpool University.

Sam is a local lass whom many of you will remember from her days of being a student with us. Sam's already been a hit on yards and farms with her knowledge, enthusiasm and practical approach. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horses and going out.
