Prescriptions are available from this practice

You may obtain Prescription Only Medicines, Category V (POM-Vs) from your veterinary surgeon OR ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or pharmacy.

Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe POM-Vs only for animals under their care. A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an inpatient or immediate treatment is necessary. You will be informed, on request of the price of any medicine that maybe dispensed for your animal.

The general policy of this practice is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions every 6 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. The standard charge for a re-examination for a repeat prescription is £11.31 (excluding VAT).

The current price (excluding VAT) for the ten POM-Vs most commonly prescribed or supplied during 2010 in a typical three month period were: Depocillin 100ml £13.90, Cepravin Dry Cow Tubes £46.82, Cobactan Milking Cow Tubes £92.57, Danion X 60 £51.56, Equipalazone X 100 £60.75, Tylan 100ml £31.02, Metacam 32ml £12.96, Frontline Combo Medium Dog £22.44, Clavaseptin 250mg per tablet £1.14 and Pen Strep 100ml £8.76.

Further information on the prices of medicines is available on request.
